Eden Mountain Lodge is absolutely a wonderful place to come with your well-behaved pets
.  Both of our residences, Larkspur and Foxglove, are pet friendly. We love our dogs and know that many people share our philosophy that  pets are full members of the family. People enjoy vacationing with  their furred, finned and feathered friends.  Both residences have full kitchens so making meals at your vacation home-away-from-home is easy and you will not have to leave your pet out of your dining fun unless you choose to visit one of the many wonderful eateries in the area. Eden Mountain Lodge is a home-away-from-home for all species of your family!

We do have some guidelines and rules in order to offer our pet friendly option
.

  1. Your dog(s) and other roaming pets must be house trained properly and be well behaved.
  2. Your pets must have proper rabies, parvo, distemper, parvo AND Kennel cough vaccines.
  3. Your pets must be flea free.
  4. You must provide a strong crate if you plan to leave your dog(s) and cats alone in the residence while you are out exploring Eden Mountain and/or going off the mountain for all the wonderful adventures and restaurants Vermont provides. If you are visiting with your parrots, birds, ferrets, pot bellied pigs, etc. you must provide proper housing for them so that they are safe and happy during your stay with us.

  5.  Your dog(s) must be on a leash while on the grounds.  If you plan on hiking with them on the surrounding three thousand acres, and your dogs are not absolutely command trained, then leashes are recommended as there are many forms of wildlife — including porcupines! that are not advisable for your furry friends to tangle with.
  6. You may not bring your dog(s) anywhere near our kennel of sled dogs who have pens and live in the barn. You must not allow your furry friends to escape and come exploring, as our kennel cannot be exposed to viruses and germs that city and suburban dogs invisibly carry. You are free to leave them at your residence and come to visit our friendly dogs if you make arrangements with us ahead of time — our doggies love to visit!
  7. IF your dogs, cats, ferrets, pot belly pigs, etc. like to cuddle on the couch with you . . . or sleep in bed  . . . you must cover all the furniture with provided cover sheets.
  8. You may not leave barking dogs in your residence while you are away — please consider the needs of others at our wonderful, peaceful sanctuary.
  9. Pet Fees — Please see our Rates and Reservations page for information and rates.
  10. You will be expected to pay for any damage that your pet may cause.  Please understand that traveling from home is a stress for your cherished friends, and with some extra attention to their needs, safety and well-being there should not be a problem with damage.

           * Please call us at 802-635-9070 if you have any questions.  IF you e-mail we may not respond for a week or two as we live a Henry David Thoreau type of simple lifestyle - doing chores out in nature to keep Eden Mountain Lodge the wonderful haven that it is AND to take care of our free-range kennel of Alaskan Sled dogs that have their kennel in the Learning Center Barn on the property.  We can do the many chores that being remote requires and speak to you at the same time - but typing e-mails is one of the aspects of technology that is most bottom on our list!  So please - feel free - call us with your questions about the comfort of your cherished pets if you are contemplating a stay with us!
